Part III - Moving Photos From Camera to Computer
- This is much simpler than it may appear
- There are several ways to do it
- If your camera has a USB port
- Connect the camera to your computer using a USB cable
- Turn the camera on
- Open My Computer (Start > My Computer)
- The memory card will apppear as a new disk drive (usually E:)
- Left double-click to open it and find the folder containing the photos
- Left click on the first photo and Shift Left click on the last, highlighting them all
- In the File and Folder Tasks box on the top left, choose either Move Selected Files and Copy Selected Files, according to your preference
- Indicate the folder (My Pictures?) to which you want to move or copy the photos
- Left click on the Move (or Copy) button
- You're done!
- If your computer has built-in slots for memory cards
- Remove the memory card from your camera
- Insert it into the proper slot on the computer
- Proceed as in steps A.3 through A.10 above
- If you have a memory card reader
- Plug the memory card reader into a USB port on your computer
- Remove the memory card from your camera
- Insert it into the proper slot on the memory card reader
- Proceed as in steps A.3 through A.10 above
- If you have software that came with your camera
- Don't use it!
